penguin mascot during boot

Hello?

In FC3, when I add "vga=789" boot option,
the penguin mascot appears at the top of
screen during boot rather briefly.

I'd rather make that penguin into my screen
background. Where's this penguin picture
residing?

Thanks.

I dont know where the image is stored on disk, but you can just do a Google Image search for "tux"

Download a high resolution pic so that it looks good as a background :)

Hello,

the image is based on the following file (I suppose that kernel sources are installed): /usr/src/linux/include/linux/linux_logo.h

Hi akudewan and Oliv',

Thank you all for your inputs.

Oliv', do I have to do some compiling to get
the penguin in "jpg" or other universal picture
formats from the "linux_logo.h" header file?

Google is your friend: http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=...=Search+Images

That'll give you a few to choose from :)

I think you can convert it into a more conventional format with a soft like gimp. But you'll maybe have to modify the beginning of the file, I mean delete some useless lines...

Hi trevelluk and Oliv'

Thanks so much for your comments.

Oliv', thanks a lot for your general
info in working with the file with Gimp
application.

Great!
