pdf with Gnome Ghostview 2.0.1 support

I have a pdf file and when i tried to open it with Gnome Ghostview 2.0.1 the fonts were not clear and when i tried to zoom in and the window would have to use the scroll which is not comfortable at all, how can i fix that.

Do i need to upgrade my software or change the font type.

Also can someone tell me how can i run notepad or openoffice within my terminal.
