pdf-generator woes

I'm hoping someone can just give me a little point in the right direction here.

I have here a M$ Small Business Server 2000 network and I'm trying to hook up a Mandrake 9.1 Server just for simple file sharing and to make use of the pdf-generator.

I've got the file sharing side sorted and have joined the Mandrake box to the domain.

I've added the pdf-generator to one of the windows client and can print to it but no pdf file ends up in my home directory.

Heres the pdf-generator from Samba.

[pdf-generator]
path = /var/tmp
guest ok = No
printable = Yes
comment = PDF Generator (only valid users)
#print command = /usr/share/samba/scripts/print-pdf file path win_path recipient IP doc_name &
print command = /usr/share/samba/scripts/print-pdf %s ~%u //%L/%u %m %I "%J" &

I'm really keen to get this up and running and have been steadily going around in circles for a fortnight now. I'm wondering if because of the win2k domain long computernames are mucking it up.

Help appreciated.

Here is what I did,

first I installed the pdf generator into cups, because all my samba printers where transfer there in mandrake. You have to use de "pdf" backend in cups... If I remember correctly I install something with the uri .... Anyway, to help you either go http://localhost:631/ or http://localhost:10000/
I prefer the first one, wich is the cups interface.

Add a printer, and test

My advice would be to look in your /var/log and look for your samba and cups repport

good luck
