PCLinuxOS 2007 Destop preview

Running PCLinuxOS 2007 distro

Yesterday I upgraded some software from synpathic then shut down computer without going in KDE

Upon startup today I encounter the following error message when the desktop loaded

" The desktop preview and pager applet could not be loaded. Please check your installation"

I open applets menu and attempted to install Desktop preview and pager but received the same error.

Checked synpathic for broken packages but there were none listed.

Could someone please help me solve this problem.

Synaptic, not synpathic.

Do you know what software you upgraded? The error messages sound like th4y belong to KDE but I don't know that for a fact. Maybe some kind soul who knows KDE well will lend a hand here.

Reinstalled PCLinuxos all systems operating properly

Using synpathic upgraded Firefox and Thunderbird to 2006

Upgraded kdebase and the dependecies libleagle 0 and liblazg 0 and desktop error showed up again and desktop and windows not working properly.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling kdebase last time with no changes to system

Whats happening to this upgrade

If you are going to keep writing synpathic instead of Synaptic then I'm not going to help you.

Thanks to all that tried to help

The problem was solved by downloading all of the KDE packages that were available for upgrade. Rebooted and all went to operating correctly.

Thanks to a forum member who suggested this procedure
