pcAnywhere installation JVM not found

Hello Guys,

I was trying to install pcAnywhere cross platform on my openSuse 11.0 machine but almost at the end of the installation I get the error message "JVM not found" to install pcAnywhere i had to run the following command:
java -jar SetupLinuxMac.jar and I'm sure I have Java installed on my machine. I installed this software on a machine running OpenSuse 10.3 before without any problems. any help would be greatly appreciate it!
Thanks

The system requirements page for pcAnywhere says that it is supported on SuSE 10.0 and 10.1, not on 11.

Why use pcAnywhere anyway when you already have several remote desktop clients available in open source?

yes, I thought it was a compatibility issue however this knuckle head (me) tried it anyways! ok. the reason why I use pcAnywhere is because the clients where I have to connect to they use pcAnywhere on winxp.
now, do you know how to connect using a open source software to a machine running pcAnywhere? that would be awesome!

It is not quite clear to me what the problem is. The reason software companies use java is that it is platform independent. Such products should work on any machine that has a supported version of java. Which may be the problem in this case. I seem to remember that Suse 10.3 still used java 1.5 by default while the newer one uses 1.6.

should I downgrade to ver 1.5? if yes, how can I do it?
thanks!

Maybe. It depends on what you have achieved so far. I can't really make out that problem is other than some problems during installation.
