Pc restarts after accsing mounted cdrom.

some anther strange issue after upgrading to 2006.0. i have my backup DVD that if accses it thru X (kde,gnome) after a few secs my pc restarts the strange thing is : i tried 3 diffrent users and al of them crash. if go to consol and mount manualy then accses it works fine. if i go to tty1-5 all ok. only tty >7 crashes. i dont know where even to check i tries syslog and messges but didn't found anything that can couse it . |

it is a bug in chips (electronic mulfction).
i understood what happen after changing the place my cd are mounted (on the ide). i relized that only when the cdrom are on ide1 this happens so i went to the store : the first thing he ask was is gigabyte with ide error ? .. acording to the store a major shipment of gigabyte motherboard had the same ide errors: when using ata 33 on ide 1 the sys will reboot (ata 66 and 100 and all be fine). googling about that said it also is a via 686 errors. |
