pc name changed after regular reboot

This questions may sound a bit childish but since my old windows suffered security issues, which were (!) exploited, where I'm not sure they really came from, I became a bit paranoid.
After a regular reboot the name of the pc I'm logging in has changed. It's no more christoph@christoph in the console (christoph is the name of the user and christoph is the name of the pc itself), now it's [christoph@noname ~]$ in the console. Can this be caused by plugging the network cable in during the loading of the eth0 module in the reboot or is there anything else that could have happened? How do I change it back? Thanks for calming me down

Nothing much to worry about IMHO! It's happened to me after updates and seems to be the default setting on some distros. So, I just leave it like that now ...
