pavucontrol connection refused

Hi folks,

After many years of using pulseaudio, campcaster has now made it into the repos! Yeppee!

Ubuntu 10.10

But it seems to want alsa. So I ran

bash alsa-info.sh --stdout

all seems fine

johnh@tux:~$ bash alsa-info.sh --stdout
upload=true&script=true&cardinfo=

But when I run pavucontrol I get an error box,
Connection Failed : Connection Refused

Any ideas, folks, as I have waited for about a year and a half, to test campcaster, it would be nice to do so!

THanks in advance!

Is your dbus daemon running? If you boot with the noacpi option, that will prevent many services from running.

Try "pactl stat" to verify that the pulse audio daemon is running.
