pause yum update and continue later

when iam doin yum update then its almost 1gb file to be downloaded from the net...
the problem is that it will take me more than one day in office to download the same...
is there any way to pause the yum update or yum install thing so that we can continue it later from the same point ...
because as soon as i lost net connection and start yum update then it starts from the beginning and i have to again wait for that long procedure again..
i want to know how to pause yum update or yum install to start from the same point again????

Why not exclude that package, get rest of the updates, then download when you know you'll have enough time? To my knowledge, there is no pause for yum during updates.

Oh, I guess you were referring to the whole download of being over a GB. In that case, don't install or download, just list, then break it up into chunks to update all the packages you want to update.
