(Patience) need respin for 32bit UEFI BIOS firmware on 2G/32G tablet &wifi/touchscreen

Yes, I've searched&read&tried:eek:, to total lost confusion:confused::(:cry:

TheGood: I know Unix (Year2000 CLI, before all this), but
TheBad: I know zero on EFI, respinning, and little on creating multiboot USBs
TheWorst: This 2G/32G tablet has one microUSB port, for kbd OR pendrive=USBstick

I thot I once saw 'secure boot' somewhere in BIOS, but can't find it now.
I can get to a GUI option (see pic) to boot "PNY" (it recognized it!) USB
but it just ends up going back to Win10 (M$uck infinite updates ok:thumbsdown:)

[wrong:] Maybe I didn't make=burn the USB correctly, *for UEFI, with Yumi*.
But the stick boots OK on 2 non-UEFI: 32bit netbook & 64bit laptop
I also tried unetbootin on microSD card, in USB adapter (since no option to boot SDcard slot).
This boots OK on those 2 non-UEFI: 32bit netbook & 64bit NON-efi Win7 laptop

(Longer-term, I don't want to use Rufus because: won't do multiboot nor run on Linux.)
This suggests Etcher, Easy2Boot (E2B), maybe Proprietary SARDU, UNetbootin (NOT: already tried it a bit: no UEFI-only option, Distribution vs.Diskimage doesn't offer Slackware, and only seems to work for 'live' iso =3strikesU*bootinOut).
I'll try e2b and post results. RiP Rufus.

Edit2: The Hitachi USB I bot, isn't recognized by whatever gives the attached thumbnail pic; top left is replaced by: UEFI:CD/DVD Drive (at bottom of left 3); when I choose either that (CD/DVD or Removable Device) it boots Win10. When I choose the PNY below, it boots Win10, like PNY is blank (or not UEFI). Rufus says NOT to use PNY (slider, which I have).

Maybe tablet's EFI needs NTFS instead of FAT32. Idk. I'm soooo lost, sorry.

Do an md5 checksum to eliminate a bad download as the problem.

I got there from: bios Save&Exit option: Launch EFI Shell from filesystem device
I was guessing that might mean the USBstick=pendrive, but it can't be plugged-in because the kbd is plugged-in to the one microUSB port.

I'm beginning to follow the (obvious Win10/bios/uefi/whoever's) flow of:
Hold down the volume-down button while powering-on.
Choose the option, for Troubleshoot (instead of "Use a device").

Or maybe I need to stay down the "Use a device" UEFI: <USB LABEL> rat-hole.

Update: tried e2b imo hardESTway2createUSB; needing two apps lost me.

Not sure myself. Might not make any difference. But for 7 bucks. You can use it for other jobs. No? Being a atom unit from frys electronics store. I am starting to wonder if you got bit by the 32 bit bios on a 64 bit unit?

PS. I got this on what I run. Not sure if it meets your needs either. You can use a live run . Top line of conky tells you what I run. AntiX linux. Use the 17 version based on Debian Stretch if you decide to use a live run and run the antix2usb tool.

Latest Lubuntu (ubuntu) has wifi drivers for it on the install usb. A simple respin from linuxium without wifi or other additions worked for me. He's got other respins and info (refind, beta's, etc.)

With lubuntu it works like a laptop, it does not work like a tablet, the touchscreen needs drivers to touch-screen (rotate, touch input, etc.)

Hope you find a way to make the touchscreen work, I'm interested!

but you are. I added that file, and slackware-live booted to a grub>
Idk yet how to speak grub:D Similar for other distros.
Rufus MBR/GPT BIOS/UEFIonly FAT32/NTFS permutations didn't seem to matter.

Then, I tried 'your' AntiX.
It has that /EFI/BOOT/bootia32.efi (M$caseINsensitive I think)
Without this, it hung at: Waiting for /dev to be fully populated
With nomodeset, the GUI appeared, but every app got i/o error.
'failsafe' boot got me to a shell # prompt but IdkYet how to modprobe <net> up:(
TMI: there, # startx no-go as usual, but that's another day's puzzle.

ASt the UEI prompt, probably enter the drive name listed on the left side. The other thing is, tablets usually don't actually turn off. They suspend or hibernate. So, switching to another OS is more difficult in dual boot.

Bricked 2x, by changing BIOS, trying to FIND wifi & 'secure boot'

lspci didn't show a wifi device; I forgot to do lsusb; works in Win10.

There is probably a way to reset the machine, a reset button through a hole in the case, or so.

There's no reset hole. I got the poor thing replaced (sadly 4x! within 30days =free).
I'm going to stay OUT of changing the BIOS.
I never found anything like legacy nor secure-boot.
(I'll peek@ &post pic of anything anyone wants)

The 'show-stopper' is: can't see the wifi net device that M$Win10 uses.
(I'll activate Win10 & dev-mgr around later. No audio either but I don't care.)

So, once again, looks like: Linux can't run bare-metal on this tablet (&siblings:()

You're on AMI Aptio bios ... Oh dear, a different beast. Got a machine with that, runs lubuntu 64 bit on 32 bit uefi beautiful.

Try in advanced > security to disable everything you can disable in there. You may have to disable 1 thing, reboot and disable the second thing, etc. Some BIOS only cope with disable one at a time in advanced security and if you disable more at a time they revert at reboot. So go one at a time.

Then in boot, disable everything (exclamation mark in front usually) except USB, and move USB to the top line. For that it is best to have a bootable USB stick inserted in the port so you have the right USB at the top and the others disabled (if several are listed in bios).
Use a respinned OS USB for 32 bit UEFI 64 bit OS.
