password problem

E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?
what can i do?
my facebook service applicaton pakege not found.
whats the problem?
tryed many times to download this application from ovi.
plz help.

try going root and executing the command:
sudo -s

Switch to root and then try it again:
~$ sudo su - root
Enter your password:

The sudo password will be the same as your account password.

You can get to root by

su -
and giving the root password when prompted

sudo  su -
and giving your user (not root) passwd, depending on how your system was setup

Try both and see what happens.
