Question password keystrokes do not register in terminal - just installed Linux lite 2.0

Just installed Linux lite 2.0 When I tried to install drivers, in terminal when prompted for password, the keystrokes do not register. The two green areas for typing in are there, one very short and a long one, but when I type the password nothing happens.

In the user groups, the root is not enabled. My user name, Judles, is ticked but grayed out, as well as adm. The only enabled groups are some devices, and dip?, lpamin, sudo, and sambashare?

My keyboard works perfectly in Libra. So it must have something to do with permissions. How can I fix this.

I did put in a password at the installation, but am using automatic log on as I am the only user. It is a laptop, but I only use it at home.
Would be very grateful if someone could help! Thanking you, Judles

That's normal, password keystrokes not showing up. Looks like you should be using sudo:
Code:
sudo whatever command
Then your normal user's password when prompted.
