How is it password protected?

pixellany 08-27-2008 07:16 AM

And what kind of system is this? (ie which version of Linux? Desktop or Server?)
And whose folder is it?

Tinkster 08-27-2008 04:12 PM

And does the folder actually BELONG to you?

trickykid 08-27-2008 04:14 PM

LQ members do not support the cracking business. If it's not yours and you don't have the password, you need to go elsewhere for help.

It depends what on you are trying to crack of course ^^ . If there are credit card numbers, I want my part and I help you ;P

I really don't find that funny at all and that type of talk will get you banned.

It was funny enough to make me have fun. I don't think anyone will ban me, since I put emoticons, making it clear it is humor.

That's a good question, especially from someone who on their first post asks directly how to crack a password. The way he asked the question is highly suspicious. If I would have this problem and ask the question I would say the exact nature of the problem and what I should do, not "I wanna crack/break the password". I dunno, but I think it's suspicious.

That does not answer the question completely actually. You talked about a password protected folder. I asked how does the password protect the folder? Which program is asking for a password, which program did you use to password protect your folder? How is this directory protected, that is my question.
And now you talk about the delete folder. Do you want to resurrect data that have been deleted?
You need to be precise with what you ask. If your question is too confused, nobody can help you.

Are you sure its not just permission protected?

ceantuco 08-28-2008 11:39 AM

I think this guy is trying to access a folder which DOESN'T BELONG to him/her. RED FLAGS ALL OVER!!! if he/she had a user name on the network and the proper rights to access this folder by just typing his/her log on credentials he/she would be able to access it.

Agrouf 08-28-2008 11:52 AM

I don't think anything, and I apoligize if it is not the case, but is it what you are trying to do? Are you trying to access a folder which is not yours?
