partprobe error in LVM creation

Hello,
I have been trying to create am LVM, so far I added a new disk, created a 1GIB partition /dev/sdb4 using fdisk. The partition was created successfully but after using the partprobe command to commit changes to kernel, I get the following message:

Warning: Unable to open /dev/sr0 read-write (Read-only file system). /dev/sr0 has been opened read-only.

I am new to using Linux, any advice will be appreciated.

That's normal. /dev/sr0 is your CD drive. If you run partprobe without specifying a device, it probes all block devices, including the read-only CD drive if there is a disk loaded. If you had run "partprobe /dev/sdb", you should not have seen that message.
