Partitions Size
I´m about to install Slackware 10 and I have partitoned my hd the following way:
swap ---> 128mb / ---------> 100mb /temp ---> 100mb /var ------> 100mb /usr ------> 2gb /home ----> 9.5 gb It is a P2 400mhz, 256mb ram and 12gb hd. Are the partitions' sizes ok? I have doubts, specially with the temp and var partitions. |
if you can manage to keep your [/bin /sbin /etc /lib /boot] and [/tmp] under 100MB then it looks good, i'd myself go for 1/2 a gig or even 1 gig for my root drive, same with /var, but i like to be safe. My rule of thumb for swap is to make it the same amount as my RAM.
