Partitioning WinXP Drive with Linux FC2 to dual Boot.
Hi all,
I have a WinXP install on a single partition on 89gig
(what the shop gave me) and I am interested in dual booting FC2 with it.
Q.1 Can I just insert the CD and use the partitioning tool to make room?
Q.2 Can I just use the partitioning tool to make a partition to not use another OS?
Q.3 The CD's I have are oldish, I have a FC2 install on an older desktop as well, it hase been updated using at first Up2Date, then Yum (Yum is the best IMH newbie opinion) how do i get the latest kernel, samba, cups etc over to the newer box? I use 56k dialup and it would take an age to use Yum again. Can I use Yum still but use my other box as a repository (so to speak) sorry if this last question sounds like a silly thing, but thats why im called a newbie ;+P Ohh i spose i should add how do I make yum look at my other FC2?
Sorry if these are obvious newbie questions. I did use search to see if this problem has been addressed already somewhere, but it came up negative.
If there is a previous thread containing this info, please just link me to it. Thanks in advance.
On a side note. If quizes are quizicals, what are tests? :+0
Regards
Allan
