Partitioning hard drive in Ubuntu 17.04 using terminal


i have a hard drive 500 gb just install ubuntu 17.04 and i want to partition it so i can install ubuntu server on the other partition.

Hi ayahk, and welcome to LQ.

You can use fdisk or parted to do the job.

Searching on the internet will turn up quite a few tutorials on how to use these tools.

if you really only just installed ubuntu, it is easier to start the installation from scratch, only this time choose manual partitioning (i think it's called "Something Else"), partition as needed, but install only to one partition.
