Partition under Mandrake 9.0
I have been trying to install MDK9.0 on my computer.
I have a Gforce 4 card, so at boot: I type linux vga=normal. It moves through the install until I get to partitioning. Then It incorrectlly shows my drives: It should show: hda1 xp ntfs, hde1 dos, hdf2 ext hdf3 swap. It shows hda1 as ext and hde ntfs....the drive geom is correct (wd120 hda) wd27 hde..etc.... Whats wrong? Is it a bug in Mandrakes partition software?  |
Physically speaking, what type of drives do you have? zip? or something else? still those should have different designations...
generally: disk:partition hda1 your first hard drive, first parition hdc is almost always a cd drive you get the idea? If you only have one hard drive or two then this is a serious (and to me, unheard of -- of course, never means that it can't happen) error on behalf of the partition druid. Have you tried with a Redhat installation disk? Give us a few more details. Good luck. |
Partition Druid MD 9.0
I have all IDE devices 3 WD drives and one LS120
Also, I have two CDROMs I have tried installing RedHat 8.0 per your recomendation and have not had the same problems. It installs great!!! Does RH8.0 use a different Partition software? Also, it seems to see my Gforce4 only @ low res?? Why am I having so many issues with Mandrake9.0??:Pengy: I would still like to install Mandrake 9.0. Update: I have installed MD9.0:D :D :D |
