Partition table unreadable on RedHat 9 install
Hello, I'm a bit stuck and couldn't find an answer when I searched.
When creating the file system for my redhat 9 install I get
'Partition table on device HDE was Unreadable' etc
Then the same for HDG
I click no on each when prompted if I want to wipe all data on the device. Then the install bombs out.
I'm running a pair of raptors RAID 0 through a Sil 3112 PCI card, I don't think this is the problem[1]
I did have one large NTFS partition but chopped it up in PartitionMagic.[2]
Here is what I have
===========================================
Partition Information for Disk 1: 70,606.0 Megabytes
Volume PartType Status Size MB ===========================================
C: NTFS Pri,Boot 20,002.8
ExtendedX Pri 50,603.2
EPBR Log 0.0
Unallocated Log 15,006.0
EPBR Log 5,004.6
F: FAT32 Log 5,004.6
EPBR Log 1,004.1
G: NTFS Log 1,004.0
EPBR Log 14,794.2
H: NTFS Log 14,794.2
EPBR Log 14,794.2
I: NTFS Log 14,794.2
I can post the full output from PartitionInfo if one wants!
I had exactly the same error when the Unallocated part was set to ext3 or unformatted.
I have seen something about Dynamic Volumes being troublesome, could this be the source of my problem?
Please help!
Thanks
[1]Can you pause the startup procedure I couldn't read it properly even when I underclocked/disabled L1&L2 cache.
[2] Allocated 15GB for Linux, 5GB for Win98 and a few other NTFS for win2000/storage.
