Partition Question

Planning to do a dual windows/ubuntu boot. I already have windows installed and i plan to resize the partition by running an ubuntu live user session. What i wanted to do was create a fat32 partition for /home , so my user files are viewable by both OS's. Will this cause a problem during install? Does home have to be on an ext formated partition?

Also, would you recommend creating a separate partition for boot? What would be a good size for it?

home has to be ext or reiser. you can create a fat32 partition to use between the 2. i do that. i have xp on one disk, then linux distro's on another, with a 10 gig fat32 partition i use to share files between the 2.

I have alwasy recommended FAT32 for shared data. Having installed the ext2fsd driver for Windows, I now prefer that. I can have full control of permissions in the ext3 filesystem, and Windows reads and writes to ext3 seamlessly.
My current approach is largely based on the fact that 95% of my work is done in Linux.
