Partition Help!
 

Hi, I have an AMD 2400XP+ with a 80gb hard drive and 512mb of RAM.

I want to install the following:
-Windows XP Home w/ SP2
-SUSE Linux 9.1 Personal
-FreeBSD 5.3

I have been able to install SUSE and Windows partitions using PartitionMagic 8.02, but afterwards I am told that "Cannot Read Partition Drive Letter" or something along those lines. I also tried the driver update patch issued by SUSE and that allows me to boot. I cannot run the program in order to create room for the BSD partition. The hard drive is currently wiped of EVERYTHING, I am ready to start over.

If somebody can point me to a helpful tutorial or help me out, I will greatly appreciate it. Thank You In Advanced

I found the FreeBSD Handbook quite usefull when I tried FreeBSD. Partitioning was hard but getting GRUB to boot it was worse as I didn't have the ufs2_stage1_5 file in /boot/grub.

Personally, I'd ditch Partition Magic and use the partitioning tools that come with the OS's you want to install.
Here's what I'd do:
1) Install XP first. You can use the partitioning tool during setup to define the size of your windows partition.
2) Install SuSE and use it's partitioning tool to define partitions for SuSE and BSD while you're at it.
3) Install BSD into the already created and formatted partition.
Then it's just a matter of setting up a bootloader to manage it all - but that's a whole other question entirely.

Winxp, SUSE, and FreeBSD?

I don't use grub, so I can't give you detailed info, but the manual is worth a read.
