Partition check halt
 

hi i am posting the details of my problem .
well its like that when i turn my PC on the mandkarke boot select screen comes and gives me option to boot either NT,linux if i chose NT my winxp runs fine when i chose linux first different routines are printed on the screen than it detects the hardware my CDrom and hard disk after that gives the irq's when it comes to the partition check than it is printed on the screen /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0:

and after that nothing happens it keeps on there .
please help me through this
I have tried installing many times but the same prob comes everytime

can there be some problem with the installer package i am using .

please note that this all happens after i try installing linux Mandrake 9.0. When the setup completes the computer restarts then i get this error message

On the prompt that allows you to select the OS
try to add "ide=nodma" as a parameter to the
kernel.

Depends on your distro, but usually by typing :)

Hey I still dont get it
Tell me how to do that ,where can i type ?I only have a OS choice menu like the on you have when multiple WINDOWS have been installed
