i wanna install mandrake onto me laptop - duel boot it with win - managed 2 set this up - is it possible 2 create a 3'rd partion both win n mandrake will recognise ?? - 4 the purpose of savin files ere. Use Solais @ uni n u r able 2 access files in both os - help appreciated - tar

anyway. linux can access windwos filesystems, just as unix can. Linux is intended to absolutely everythign unix can, and does a very good job of it.

Now... you start posting dumb questions here and i'll track you down in COA lab and pull your nipples off! ;-) That's assuming you're at this uni, and doing cs... but then i can't really imagine Cov uni having a bbc micro, let alone Sparc machines, albeit 270mhz things.

anyway as for downloading stuff, residences are throttled, so i personally use mimosa, topaz, primrose etc to wget any big things and then ftp it back.

when i did install it - i couldn't c the different partion in the windows os 2 the unix 1
i didn't really look @ c ing the win files from the unix os - but i know i could c the partion in that control pannel mount point thingy :)
