Parted Hard Drive install

I want to know how to install Linux into a 30GB partition of a 120GB slave. Can anyone tell me how and/or which distributions would be best for doing this?

what do you want to actually KNOW? most distro's will deal with this just fine. you'd need to repartition your alloted space into smaller parts during the install though.

pick a linux distro. install it. easy. you won't lose windows unless you don't follow the installation correctly.

when you install linux (mandriva , fedora , .......) you will have an option to install it in any harddisk and partition you want , then when you bootup there will be an option to start either windows or linux
