Post Parrot OS malfunction after hibernate

Hello!
I recently installed Parrot OS on my laptop. Everything was fine, until i hibernated the machine. Now, when it starts, it asks me to select a profile from the list. The list only contains one profile named disabled. This text also says that default profile does not exist. When i log in, the icons and the wallpaper wont load and a lot of apps doesnt work. Please help, i dont want to reinstall if not necessary.

Did hibernation work correctly?

I take it you mean a user profile when you say "select a profile from the list." ?

As I'm not a Parrot OS user, I'm not sure if a 'normal' limited user account is created when you install it. Have you created a normal limited user account? As, you should do that anyway.

Is this "one profile" called root ? or something else? (please post what it says)

The "disabled profile" suggests that maybe it's the root user account, or maybe (if it does create a limiteed user account) a limited user account created when you installed it. But the "default profile that does not exist" suggests that it'e installation program didn't create such an account. Anyhow, if it just a disabled account (hopefully not the root user account), you can try the following command to unlock the account:

Code:
passwd -u <user name here>
Please post more information and details.

No, this is before the login screen. Usually, when i start, first it shows the bootloader then the op system. But now only this terminal like stuff with the select profile thing, and then the os. I guess its not the user profiles. It says: "Please select a profile from the list below. Default does not exist. List: disabled. " So i choose disabled and it boots but the settings and other stuff doesn't function.

Are you hibernating or suspending? Hibernation writes the memory contents to the swap partition. Suspend preserves the memory contents in memory.

Maybe the above links will help with other member replies.

Have you tried asking at https://community.parrotsec.org/

Might help. Might not. Don't know myself as I do not run forensic distros. < They have weird default rules >
