Pardus security

After reading a couple of rave reviews about Pardus 6, I'm interested in trying it. My only concern is about security. Does anyone have info?
Thanks,
Michael Caro

What are your security concerns? It would be easier to address those than to, throw out random bits of info that might not be relevant or what you're looking for.

Pardus 6

Because I do a lot of buying & selling of stocks online, also bill-pay, I'm concerned about it being as difficult as possible for anyone to get into my accounts. Also, the integrity of the distro, in this case, Pardus.
Thank you for your response.

I cannot vouch for the integrity of Pardus (nor any other distro) I can say that Pardus is not a distro that has sprung up overnight. As is the case with any operating system it's up to you the user to be as pro-active as you can in securing your machine. Keeping on top of updates and patches for both the operating system and the software you use. The key thing is to make things as difficult as possible, so that any potential attacker moves on to what they consider an easier target. If you can, take Pardus for a test spin. Join their forum, get help from other users in securing your machine.

Pardus was originally created for use by the Turkish government, so it's not likely to be less secure than other distros: governments do tend to be sensitive about security!
