Panel Problems

I fired up RH 9 the other day, and my panel at the bottom of the screen was gone, kaput, nada. In addition, when I created a new one, any app I had running that was minimized just disappeard, as opposed to becoming an accessable button on the panel. What did I do? I can't seem to find any settings that will either bring back my original panel or make the one I have behave. TIA!
