I am getting an error, from "configure" script , indicating wrong version of "glib-2.0".
Quote:
configure error
configure_DEBUG:13213: checking for GLIB
configure_DEBUG:13268: $PKG_CONFIG --exists --print-errors "glib-2.0 >= 2.28"
Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `glib-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'glib-2.0' found
I am not sure how to interpret both dpkg and apt-get install glib-2.0 outputs.
It looks conflicting - I do not have glib-2.0 but have no need to install it .
Any help in solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

of course you need glib2. More accurately, the software you are trying to build (which one is it, by the way?) needs it as a dependency. But its name is glib2, not glib-2.
According to this page in Ubuntu (which I do not run) the package is named libglib2, so try this
Code:
sudo apt-get install libglib2.0
or maybe just:
Code:
sudo apt-get install libglib2
PS The error message does not indicate a wrong version, rather no glib2 found for at all.
