giFT has a Fast Track plugin that will allow you to use the Fast Track (Kazaa) network.

You can check that out at http://gift.sourceforge.net/

I personally use gtk-gnutella which shares with various gnutella clients, like bearshare or limewire... Works well and nicer to use than some...

gift has plugins for gnutella, fasttrack, and openft

(tho i haven't got a connection to gnutella yet, the fasttrack network almost always has ever 9p (a lot more then 1t that i get with openft, and napshare (the one i used before gift, it was a gnutella client)

i like the giftui interface for gift best, altho giftoxic is a bit simpler (and gives you less features, but has its ups)

does anyone know what OS the few people that were actually put on trial for music were running? would that matter?

SciYro 06-29-2004 10:02 PM

have no clue, probably windows

and it probably wouldn't matter, altho i think linux is much easier to use proxies with, or mangle the packets to make it appear you are somewhere else,, it those are not always reliable, the only thing you have to worry about is your ISP, they cant legally (did they change this?) be forced into telling people who you are (from your ip address, which is really the only thing the RIAA has at you),, but some ISP's tell anyway (filthy rodent-diarea eaters!)

I really don't think there is a law on that, But I have read that Verizon, SBC, Charter and RCN have refused to let that info out, I'm sure a co. like Comcast would hang you out to dry though? they'd sell there mothers If it would save money (ex employee). :(

SciYro 06-29-2004 10:30 PM

yea, is covax any good tho?

i want to try and get my mom to get a ISP away from comcast cause i fear that they would probably sell out anyone

and it might not be a law, but its almost just as good, the courts ruled that ISP's were not legally obligated to release info about who uses what ip address and the like
