Overheating error 090D

I am having a problem in hp 2000-4100US laptop.
today my laptop hibernated 3 times in an hour or so saying that my laptops internal tempreture exceeded and so my laptop was put on hibernate and it does everyday since 3-4 days atleast 2-3 times everyday so what is wrong with it and there is nothing wrong with the surface i put my laptop on,none of the vents are being bloacked whatsoever.

It could be caused by a software update. Although I have heard of spontaneous overheating caused by hardware.

The first thing to do is clean out the cooling system. It does not have to be blocked to become inefficient.
Also, check if the power-management for CPU and GPU is working and configured correctly.

Flash is a hog on your CPU, which cause the CPU to heat up. Nonetheless, as long as your cooling system is well maintained there should be no problem. Have you cleaned it out yet?

Ubuntu usually does a good job with configuring the hardware, so I doubt that switching the distribution will help.
Which hardware is in that notebook and which drivers are you using if you have an AMD or Nvidia video card.
