Overheating?

I'm a noob. I just downloaded and installed Mandriva 2K6. It installs without any problems, but when I boot it goes through all the processes then tells me it reaches a critical temperature (127 C) then shut its-self down. What do I do about this?

Progress?

After some tinkering, I think I found the GUI won't load because there's an X Windows error. I try to run Konqueror and it says: konqueror: cannot connect to X server.

Type 'startx' at the console.

if you know your fan, hardware etc is fine, try acpi=off
at kernel boot up

It sounds like either HW problem or misconfiguration
of the censors (you can did later into lsmsensors /etc/sysconfig I think) or /etc/sensors.conf

Welcome to LQ, just try a better longer title next time
and try to state your exact configuration

Is this a laptop?
