Outlook Express?

Hello all, I'm just getting things up and running on a RedHat 8.0 box. I use Outlook Express for my school work (it's kind of required, actually). Will OE work on RedHat?

If not, how would I configure the default mail/news program(s) to read and work with IMAP servers...

TIA!

I find that one of the best Linux mail clients is Ximian Evolution. You can download it for free off of either Novell's or Ximian's websites. If gives you the functionality of POP3, IMAP, SMTP, SendMail, and it has an Exchange connector. I find it is MUCH better than OE in many, many ways.

Hope this helps!

OP mentions OE so he will not need the exchange connector.

Better than OE, man, even Pine is already better than OE. In fact, one of the nicer features of Pine 4.56 and higher is that you can rub the nose of outlook users in that HTML crap they tend to mail.

i would recommend mozilla thunderbird. it is the closest to outlook express and runs both on linux and windows; so you can even use the same email client in both places. ximian evolution is good but is more similar to outlook (it also has a calendar)

oh and thunderbird is configured like you configure outlook express.
