"Other" mountpoint
I've recovered a part of my hard drive that was WinBlows. I have everything else in its place. Now I want to assign a mountpoint to that area. Is there a good "other" mountpoint? i.e. a mountpoint name that is not really used by anyone or anything in Linux, but can be accessed and mounted by the system?
BTW, I wish I could give a hearty THANKS to everyone here. I have learned so much from you folks. |
A mountpoint can be unique just by having it in a particular directory. e.g., you could make a mountpoint /home/stuff. That would not conflict with any other file or directory named "stuff". Use fstab to have the system automatically mount a partition to that mountpoint.
