Log out, then log back in but look on the options at the log in manager. Look for something saying something about mate or cinnanon select it and proceed to log in

Here is a helpful hint. Go to google images. Try and find a image by search term Mint 15

Shoot me a image link in the next post. You should have a terminal (2 of them , one is root terminal, the other a user terminal)
in mates Taskbar if that is what you are running.

mine
as a example. That is Mate. The 2 terminals are the square red and black box in the taskbar.

rokytnji 11-04-2013 07:44 PM

Ok, you are in Gnome 3 from the sound of it. Try using Fall Back mode. The Mate edition does not use Gnome at all which is what I am running.

Download and read this . It sounds like you need it.

name
It's really quite tecky. The menu on the left goes up and down. The menu names floasts out. The search screen is see through. Well nice but I just dont think i have it in me to figure this out I been on Linux day and night. theres so much reasearch and the reading. Thats to do anything.

rokytnji 11-04-2013 08:02 PM

Yep Gnome 3 Unity Desktop. Just to let you know. My Mint 14 is supported Longer than your Mint 15.

Quote:

V15 Olivia Ubuntu Raring Supported until January 2014.

14 Nadia Ubuntu Quantal Supported until April 2014.
So can you point me to the link you used to download mint from. The exact description is necessary for me to know what version of Mint 15
you installed since I used the Mate edition download link for Mint 14.
