OS for old laptop(acer aspire 9500)
so i need an OS for this laptop and i am going to get the laptop from a place to place not just to settle so here are the spec

You can try any distro with light DE (xfce, openbox, fluxbox. lxde).

@omran97: This laptop uses a Pentium M CPU. Some versions of these CPUs do not support PAE, a feature that is enabled in kernels of most modern distributions. Some distros, like Debian, Slackware and distros that are aimed at older hardware have kernels available that are compiled without PAE, so it might be possible that you have to limit yourself to one of those distros, at least as long as you don't have a separate machine to build a kernel yourself. |
Pentium III timeframe, so not horrible. Do you happen to know WHICH processor it is? The Dothan cores supported PAE. Although most distro's include an available non-pae kernel also.
