Welcome to LQ.

Have you looked at your system settings?

What distribution are you running?

Note that nothing will increase your battery life, but instead it may help to manage the use of the battery more effectively so as to help maintain good battery life for a longer period of time. And if you have an old or poor performing battery, there's nothing any OS can do.

Similar with Windows or any other OS, not having the screen fully bright, allowing the hard drive to stop operating, and allowing the system to go to sleep when unused will help to make best use of the charge in the battery.

Please know also that your one-line question is very open-ended and doesn't help others to understand much about your particular situation.

Well, there actually is. You may need to roll your own kernel. First, you can force the CPU into powersave mode. Second - with your own kernel - you can customize the kernel to take advantage of all power saving features which may not be available with stock kernel. Optimizing the kernel for your hardware requires rather deep knowledge of hardware and will be time consuming, in particular if you have to learn everything in process. But it can be fun, if this is the kind of fun you like ... Needless to say, use the latest kernel available, new features are added all the time, even an old driver may have a new power saving feature added.
