operting systems for my acer one miney
 
i have a problem i just bought a used acer aspire one and it had windows xp professional install on it and after a few days it said i had a bootleg copy that my pro key did not match with the copy of windows i was useing and they shut me down so i bought bought me a external usb dvd rom and tried to in stall a copy of windows xp home edition sp2 that a frend of mine had and it said the vershion i was trying to install was a older one than whot i have installed so i wiped out the hard drive and tried to install it and it said a file asms. is missing and could not be installed so i was looking for a operation system that i could download to a usb flash drive or burn to a cd but with out any luck could you please help me some one on face book said i could fine a free operation system down load on here so i thought i woud try but so far no luck please help

First of all, please use punctuation in your posts. Entire paragraphs with very little punctuation are extremely difficult to read. Capital letters and spell-checking wouldn't go amiss, either.

Presumably you know nothing about Linux. In that case, you need to be aware that Linux is quite different from Windows. Have a look at this, for a bit of a comparison. Also, this might be useful reading.

If you're still interested in trying Linux, then you'll probably want to consider Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

Too bad that you wiped the drive because acer has a hidden recovery partition.
I myself have winsxp & Debian on my acer aspire 3620.
I also have wins7 & debian on another drive, in which wins 7 is not very friendly with i915 chipset & winsxp is no longer available, but debian runs quite well on it.
