Opera browser opens in small window

I am using Linux mint 18.1 my preferred browser is Opera 45.0.2552.881

I use the Cairo-Dock bar to launch my favourite programs from, everything opens in a full (maximised) window except Opera, I also have Firefox & Chrome which are both fine.

I put an icon for Opera on the desktop & in properties I entered "opera %U --start-maximized" in the "Command" box & it opens properly I.E in a fully maximised window, however as soon as I drag this icon to the Cairo-dock bar it goes back to opening in a small window.

Although it isn't hard to maximise it once open I would still like to know why this happens & how to fix it if anyone has a suggestion please.

thanks

Thanks for the link interesting reading but no real answer, just seems to be suggesting that that's the way it is.
No worries it's not a massive problem.
Thanks again
