OpenSuse firewall and bandwidth

really simple question: does the firewall that comes with opensuse 12.1 affects my torrent/http download/upload speed at all? i have port forwarded applications in my router.

Any layer you add between you and the internet has the possibility of lowering available bandwidth.
The difference should be negligible unless the connection number is to high for the firewall to handle.

I am not familiar with the firewall that comes with opensuse but if it has QoS it has the potential to limit your available bandwidth.
