openSUSE 11.1, new install, USB Boot Question

I'll be installing openSUSE 11.1 soon. It will be a new install on old computer using an external USB hard drive. My computer BIOS does not support USB boot drives even after BIOS updates. Is there a driver available or other options? Thanks
