Openshot-Doc

I installed Openshot 1.3.0.

Openshot-doc help does not open. It is installed and has been uninstalled/installed but still won't open. Error message reads, "Unable to open, check if installed".

I have LinuxMint 11 installed on top of my finally defunct winxp of 10 years.

I will most likely get 'shot' because this is a question about openshot-doc and not Linux. I am truly a linux Newbie.

what is the output of this command?
Code:
aptitude search openshot
If it really is installed you should see this:
Code:
i openshot - Create and edit videos and movies
or this
Code:
i A openshot - Create and edit videos and movies
If you don't then it hasn't been installed you must install it using this command as root or with sudo
Code:
aptitude install openshot
ciao,
jdk

Openshot-1.3.0 : No Help function. Openshot-1.4.0 : The same.
Either of <F1> and 'Help' will display the GUI sign "Cannot open help content".
But the "Report" functions are OK, you can send an error report.

The online manuals
http://www.openshotvideo.com/2009/12...-openshot.html

Also not working.

Has anyone have any luck getting the DOC file to open by clicking on HELP within "Openshot"?

JDKaye asked me to try this command to see if the doc files are installed. The answer is Yes.

"aptitude search openshot"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

when I run the command "aptitude search openshot"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the result is...

i openshot - Create and edit videos and movies
i openshot-doc - Help manual for OpenShot Video Editor

Well according to the output you posted both openshot and openshot-doc are installed. Have you also installed the gnome-user-guide package?

jdkaye, I'm a Newbie so I'm not sure if 'gnome-user-guide package' is installed. Is there a way I can check that too? maybe I should mention this also but alot other program help files don't open

Exactly the same way you did it before use
Code:
aptitude search <package name>
In this case the package name is gnome-user-guide
If you see an "i" at the beginning of the line, that means it's installed.
Here's what it looks like on my machine:
Code:
$ aptitude search gnome-user-guide
i A gnome-user-guide - GNOME user's guide
As you can see, it has been installed on my system.
ciao,
jdk

openshot-doc

If the openshot-doc package is installed, then you can run openshot, and then click on Help, and in the menu that this pulls down, click on Contents. Alternatively, it seems that you can press F1.
