Openoffice: how do I install a new dictionary?

I just started using linux this week, and I'm not very familiar with how to get some stuff done. I've downloaded a dictionary for openoffice (german), with two parts: a .aff file, and a .dic file. Unfortunately, I don't know what to do next, and the openoffice help file isn't all that helpful. Anyone have any ideas?

Tools>Options>Language settings>Writing aids should get you started. The help menu also has some extensive info on the dictionary.
good luck.

That didn't really do anything. Any other suggestions?
