Depending on what you want from the remote host, you'll probably want to run an SNMP agent on the remote device.

OpenNMS has nothing at all to do with port forwarding.

Hello Sir, Very Thanks for reply,

I was polled remotly a REHL5 machine. this is another network for OpenNMS server. yes i was configured SNMP v2 on my remote machine and i want to moniter Oracle database service on the remote machine.

What package is required to install on remote poller service.

And i was used OpenNMS 1.8 version on LINUX UBUNTU 10.04 machine, as per OpenNMS doc server setting is configure like monitor.location.xml & poller-configuration.xml file with remote location name. ((I have one confusion my OpenNMS server is not configure any real IP, so how could my remote client is know about that, and which real ip we have its configured on firewall)

Thanks in Adavance
