Arrow openmosix.

i am using mandrake linux.
i am building open mosix linux cluster in my network.
for developing linux cluster i have recompile my linux kernel.
so i have downloaded one rpm file from the openmosix website.
i have installed that.
the file is........

after installing this should i compile my linux kernel.
but now my have kernel version is..

[student@localhost student]$ uname -a
Linux localhost 2.6.3-7mdk #1 Wed Mar 17 15:56:42 CET 2004 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux
[student@localhost student]$

so whith this how to boot my installed kernel and how to add a new entry in lilo.conf file.

my /boot dir is....

[root@localhost boot]# ls
boot.0300 diag2.img kernel.h@ message@
config@ grub/ kernel.h-2.6.3-7mdk message-graphic us.klt
config-2.6.3-7mdk initrd-2.6.3-7mdk.img map message-text vmlinuz@
diag1.img initrd.img@ memtest-1.11.bin vmlinuz-2.6.3-7mdk
[root@localhost boot]#

You should read the threads here about kernel compilation, there are plenty. Basically, though you just do:

make xconfig (or menuconfig, to configure the kernel)
make dep (2.4 kernels only)
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install (as root)

in your kernel source. Then you copy over the bzImage file, edit lilo.conf or grub.conmf (I think Mandrake uses GRUB, not LILO, by default), and reboot. But seriously, check out some of the many other threads about this.
