Opening hyperlink in Evolution doesn't work
Hi,
I'm using Gentoo 2.6-11-r6 with KDE3.4 on which I run Evolution to do my email. Now when I receive an email which contains a hyperlink I can't click it to connect through. By default I'm using Firefox as browser. My file associations with html are first whith Firefox than with Konquerer. Within Evolution when I point the mouse on the hyperlink it says "Click to open ...." but it doesn't do anything. Even if I use the right mouse buton and select "Open link in Browser" it doesn't work. Any ideas how to solve this stupid but nasty problem? |
Try setting the default Gnome (I realize you're running KDE) http and https handlers to /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/firefox "%s". IIRC this is the gconf key Evolution will use.
You can use gconf-editor to set it with an easy GUI - the keys are located at /desktop/gnome/url-handlers. Håkan |
Ehu.... So there is no solution on KDE?
And everybody has an issue opening an hyperlink via Evolution, I am sorry but can't believe this? |
hey it works!
im using xfce and ran gconf-editor which i believe is a gui for gconf? anyway.. i went to /desktop/gnome/url-handlers and changed the values there to point to my firefox installation and it worked! thanks hw-tph! |
