Unhappy Opening & Editing the Source Code

Hello everyone! plz give me steps and procedures to see the source code of linux (ubuntu or any distributions). what else do i need to install before i get to open or edit the codes. Please. Thank you.

And closed ... even though this is the original, the one in
programming is placed more sensibly.
