There are a number of utilities for monitoring CPU and memory usage in Linux. There are also GUI applications like Conky and GKrellM which have that capability. (Full disclosure: I'm a long-time GKrellM fan.)

If they don't meet your requirements, could clarify what specifically you are looking to accomplish?

"power benchmarks" is such a soggy, squishy, almost meaningless term. Countless utilities for monitoring your system exist. Please specify.
