Open source

Hello Guys,

Am new to open source and would like to know the best platform (Fedora,Ubuntu or Mandriva) to run on as beginner. Am currently looking for good ebooks that can make me understand open source better because i have a passion for it.

Your valuable contributions will really help me a lot.

Thanks and Regards,

George.

Though Linux is open source, Linux is NOT the only open source software available. All the names you take are the Linux distributions available and all are good enough foe starting into Linux. Ubuntu is one of the most widely used desktop Linux distribution and has extensive documentation as well. It has the official documentation team and you can download the PDF from the internet for your reference.
Open source is a vague term and you need to be specific about your needs and passions. Do you want to use Linux for web development, or you want to learn system administration or just need it for day to day computing? All the fronts have got open source tools for you.
