open relay problem, help please


I found out my server has open relay enabled. I would like to turn this off but honestly do not know how.

I have cpanel/whm on fedora core 2, using exim 4

why don;t u use a firewall to close that??
go for

setup

in shell
and then select

firewall

Partdon me but is some text missing from your reply? Sorry, I'm not understanding you 100% because it seems like some stuff (text) is missing lol.

Anyway, I do have APF installed. What would I do exactly?

I'm assuming that the OP means an open mail relay as in sendmail. In that case, disallowing it via the firewall would not work, unless the OP were to shut of all SMTP access. If the machine is not acting as a mail server, this should definitely be done. I'm not an Exim expert (I use sendmail), but a google for Exim open relay should help you figure out how to close it.

what i meant was

run the following command in shell

setup
and chose forewall settings and u can block ur port 25(SMTP)

and since u have APF installed hen blocking SMTP (port no. 25)will not allow others to access

or if u do nothave a mail server and if u want to shut all of ur smtp access then why not close the EXIM service itself
