open office writer text document zip files

hi!
Im new to this and this is the first time i encounter this..
Im using openoffice 1.0.. when i tried to make a text document and save it as open office text document (sxw) file, the file will be saved in zip format.
Is there a way I can make it as sxw file and not zip files?

If you really have version 1.0, then don't waste time with bugs in it. It is totally obsolete.
Two versions are now available:
1.1.5 (Legacy)
2.0.2 (Current--stable)
